Nach einigen Emails mit verschiedenen Ärzten haben wir uns jetzt für die einzig mögliche Therapie für Vanessa entschieden: Begleitende Therapie mit ONC201. Es ist zwar geplant, dass eine Studie mit dem Medikament in Zürich gemacht werden soll, aber es ist immer noch kein Startdatum in Sicht. Daher sollen wir nicht auf diese Studie warten, sondern mit der Therapie beginnen, so der Tipp aus Zürich. Damit fällt Vanessa als mögliche Teilnehmerin heraus, allerdings soll es wohl auch eine Studie mit ONC206 geben, für die die Einnahme von ONC201 vorab kein Ausschlusskriterium darstellt.

Wir haben heute grünes Licht von unserer Ärztin in Würzburg bekommen, so dass ich heute die Tabletten für die ersten Wochen bestellen konnte. Nun warte ich noch auf die Rechnung und hoffe, dass Vanessa nächste Woche starten kann.

Diese Therapie ist leider sehr kostspielig, da die Tabletten aktuell nicht von der gesetzlichen Krankenkasse gezahlt werden. Ich werde einen Antrag auf Einzelfallentscheidung (individueller Heilversuch) stellen, die Chancen stehen aber wohl eher schlecht.

Vanessa benötigt 3×4 Tabletten jeden Monat, in der 4. Woche nimmt sie Temodal. 3×4 Tabletten kosten 3.000 Euro. Aktuell haben wir knapp 38.000 Euro durch eure Hilfe zusammen bekommen, die etwa 10 Monate ONC201 Therapie finanzieren.

Decision for ONC201

After a few emails with various doctors, we have now decided on the only possible therapy for Vanessa: accompanying therapy with ONC201. It is planned that a study with the drug will be carried out in Zurich, but there is still no start date in sight. Therefore, we shouldn’t wait for this study, but start the therapy, so the tip from Zurich. Vanessa falls out as a possible participant, but there should also be a study with ONC206, for which the use of ONC201 in advance is not an exclusion criterion.

Today we got the green light from our doctor in Würzburg, so that I could order the tablets for the first few weeks today. Now I’m still waiting for the bill and hope that Vanessa can start next week.

Unfortunately, this therapy is very expensive because the tablets are currently not paid for by statutory health insurance. I will submit an application for a decision on a case-by-case basis (individual healing attempt), but the chances are probably rather bad.

Vanessa needs 3×4 tablets every month, in the 4th week she takes Temodal. 3×4 tablets cost 3,000 euros.
